Bio
Guitarist, songwriter, composer, singer, student, and soldier, Coby Siegel is a part of so many exciting projects.
He is a dedicated student at The Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University where he is studying Jazz Guitar under Marvin Sewell. He is the three-time recipient of the Chuck and Marge Levin Endowed Scholarship. In 2022, he was featured in Peabody’s Jazz Composer’s Forum where he showcased his original pieces to his mentors and peers alongside virtuoso, Warren Wolf.
As an independent artist, Coby has played at numerous venues in Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Philadelphia. He made his debut in 2022 and has continues to fill the best rooms in the region. His unique musical style and on-stage charisma are undeniable and leaves audiences in awe and filled with excitement.
Outside of school, Coby is a soldier serving in the 229th Army Band of the Maryland National Guard. He is an integral part of Musical Performance Teams including “The Jazz Exchange” and “Live Fire” as well as the unit’s concert and marching bands.
As a freelance musician, Coby’s main gig is with Onyx, a premier wedding band in the D.C./Maryland/Virginia area. He can also be found in jazz clubs as a sideman working alongside his Peabody colleagues and local artists.
